LIttle Mexico--Briggs girls lets Go!

Jay and I went to visit the New Ranch Market, up on stapley and southern, a hop , skip jump from our house, yes we are in thethe barrio.......this is a remarkable store, they have a spanish store with all its delicacys, yes a pigs head with an apple in the mouth, huge huge pigs ears,. they have a restaruarant, the drinks, like horchata, and watermelon, it is a plethora of delights if you like the Rocky Point Venue. You may be the minority, and down a little further there is a shoe shop and blouse store that is no bigger than 6x6........New Hispanic grocery in Mesa to hire 400

Pro's Ranch Market, which already has four stores in Phoenix and one in Glendale, will expand to Mesa to serve a growing Hispanic population in the East Valley and other lovers of Mexican and South American foods.

The 65,000-square-foot market will be located in the new Mesa Ranch Plaza at the northwest corner of Southern Avenue and Stapley Drive. The 18-acre Spanish colonial-style shopping center developed by Diversified Partners has lined up tenants who appeal to Latino shoppers.

The center hopes to appeal to the large Hispanic population in the area. But Pro's Vice President of Operations Rick Provenzano said the upscale grocery will appeal to a wider audience.

"We're a Hispanic-themed store, but we cater to everyone in the neighborhood," he said.

The store will feature La Cocina (The Kitchen), a picnic table-seating restaurant with meals made from fresh meats, tortillas, breads and produce available elsewhere in the grocery.

The aisles will feature familiar brands plus imported Hispanic items throughout the store. Bilingual signs will be displayed throughout, and mariachi and salsa musicians will lend a festive atmosphere, Provenzano said.

Another feature of the store will be 10 niches where small and startup businesses can rent space, he said. Provenzano expects the small offices will be occupied by cell-phone distributors, insurance sellers, travel agents and similar businesses.

Pro's will face competition from two nearby Food City stores operated by Bashas' and a Wal-Mart superstore about a mile away. But Provenzano said his company occupies a slightly different market niche.

The family-owned grocery chain began in 1982 when Mike Provenzano, the company founder, opened a small grocery with six check-out stands in Ontario, Calif. At first it wasn't Hispanic themed, but as the neighborhood around the grocery changed, so did the store.

Provenzano waited to expand until his four sons - including Rick - had earned college degrees and joined the business. Then the company expanded to California's Central Valley in 1997 and to the Phoenix area in 2003. In the past two years Pro's has moved on to El Paso, Texas, and Albuquerque, N.M.

In addition to Mesa, the chain is building a fifth store in Phoenix and one in Los Lunas, N.M. Beyond that, "we will focus on our current stores," Rick said.

Who wants to help Jay build a motorcycle like this

I have a homemade bike me and my brother built many years ago. Runs and drives but the back tire kind of rides sideways. The seat blew out a few years ago and I made do with a sofa cushion, duct tape and a couple of 2x 4's ( the ultimate fix! ). It runs like a champ but does smoke alot especially if you are hard on the gas. Uses about a quart of oil for each gas fillup. I usually just put the oil directly in the gas as it is going to burn it anyway and that way it is easy. Can't drive over 12 miles or so at a time as the motor gets red hot and starts loosing power so probably a good bike for someone who drives locally. Does backfire and squeel pretty loud occasionally so I usually wear earplugs of some kind. DOES NOT pass emmissions so would need to be registered in a county without emmisions check. Great first bike otherwise!

The Little Truck that Could....Not!

I have had this truck for many years, today was the first day I myself have damaged it I was leaving Fresh and Easy, a local grocery store, picking up some grocerys for Jay as he was going to the dunes, yes yesss I know good wife picking up sardines, cheese stuff olives, lil smokies, tortillas, and who knows what other exotic items I purchased, pigs feet were not avaialable.
So completed that project and remembered that our Grandmother Dog Mitzi has been eating Reillys hot dogs for a few days, ssshhhhh.
On my way...shall I really say it here....in this venue....maybe just a tad I was ....well okay, Daydreaming. I ran into the Vacant Village Inn Sign, so here's the deal. AS I hit the sign I remembered thinking what is that noise, I was trying to miss a car that was stuck in front of the sign and I swerved a tad too wide......Did I not think to stop,(actually that is what Jay said, as I looked queerily at him--You all know that look, glassy eyes and no blinking) NOOOOOOOO Ms. Margie plowed right through, as if she was trying to take down The Tower of Babel, scraping the side of my truck almost past the passenger door, breaking the fender thus scraping the tire as I turn slightly left, screech.....breaking the side mirror which hung like a broken arm, off the side of the truck, you know the cars you see, shall I say it here again, white trash...ha ha ha..where their mirror is rattling back and forth hanging on by a electrical tendon., well, there I was.... and there it was, that damn mirror flopping back and forth as I drove gingerly home. Knowing Jay was gonna give a scowl, and maybe a grunt or two...which He did! I told him I was running his errand, so it was HIS fault, we found humor in that for a second to soften the blow of what pride I might have left. So with a little duct tape and tie wire, we have miraculously managed to make it work, or at least the mirror from looking too shameful, gotta find a mirror out there. As I hopped into my truck the other day I actually tried to put the mirror in position to see who is coming up along side me, sidenote: didn't work...... He was able to kinda fix the fender....So remember back a bit when I was selling my Dad's Piece of Crap Truck, I guess mine is next.
Oh before I close look at the Villiage Inn Sign, Ha....

What is in this Make up Case?

So my neice Morgan had a depotting evening with cousins, this is where you take all your mac makeup and put it in a specialized Mac Makeup Tray--I don't have mac make up, maybe 2 items, so I decided to do it "Dummy's Depotting" or Margies poor Womans Depotting--Here is pictures of what the results were. I am quite proud of my little endeavor, and now I have all my make up together., can be ready in a jiff to go anywhere.....Just wanted to share.

What the heckers is this?

Well read on.

So here is the secret!

So I took some canvas that painters use to paint on, covered it with different colored papaer, glues them on with hot glue., then cleaned all my makeup brushes, make up containers, eyeliners, lipliners and glued them all onto these card board canvas., I made some loops for the brushes, but would try something different next time., I wanted to use elastic and it of course was tucked away in some deep closet pocket and I imporvised with ribbon, it looks okay. Then the last one i glued ribbon around the under side so when it is in the make up case I could just pull out. There is a picture folliwng.

So it is a package

Now I have all my makeup ribboned together, and ready to pull out of mymake up bag, how easy is that! And CUTE to BOOT!

So there it is! What a package

So here I am ready at the last minute to go....go anywhere......does this mean I have to start wearing make up?
