Nostalgia in the summertime

I posted this some time ago, but wanted it to stay on top--not sure yet how to do it! But this is one of my favourite pictures with sisters, Patti and Rosemary.

At least I am guessing we are 6, 8, 10 years of age. Never so much fun and playing with our dollies, look at the old carriage, oh to have that now! And all of us had red hair, too. ! More on that later. This was taken in Magrath Alberta Canada, when my sisters and I were small. Margie in the blue dress, Rosemary in the pink, and Patti in the yellow!

Have I got a lifetime of news to tell you, the thrill to begin is above any rush I have had in a LONG time! But not to make you curl your toes, or hold on with white knuckles, i hope to have a smattering of chuckles for us both and drops of tearlets.

I am an old gal, yep! 51 To say that is BIG! Really, to accept your age and go gleefully through life with arms out stretched ready for what is ahead. Cuz I want to laugh hard every day, and make someone else laugh, that's my gift and I'm stickin' to it.

A lil' bit about myself--my beginnings--I am 5 out of 7 children, Bill, Victoria, Patti, Rosemary, Me, Nora and Spence. Born in Magrath, moved to Dallas Texas when I was 14, year later moved to Mesa Az, and been here since. All 7 children had red hair. My dad Ernest had red hair and my Mother, Betty had auburn! Destined for greatness!

I had a wonderful childhood, playing in the barn, picking weeds, milking/herding cows, collecting chicken eggs, picking weeds, playing with siblings, learning to ride a bike shared by everyone, bucking bales of hay, picking rocks, picking weeds, (did i already mention that?) and laughing alot!

I think I started getting my sense of humor (age 5-6), when my Mother and Dad were butchering the chickens, they handed me one with it's head amputated, writhing around squirting blood about, and said, "Margie it's your turn take this up to the house." I guess I turned on my heels in terror running away as fast as I could yelling--"Not me daddy, me to widdo (little)"!

So to end this story a day without laughter is well.....sad! I will continue more . G'margie (grandma Margie for short) because of my grand children Anne and Ryder!

Goodwill not so good finds!

So Anne and I went to visit goodwill and as we were perusing the lines, we came across a few items that Tara had donated. So funny thought we would take pictures as to never forget something we once loved and hope someone else will buy it and love it too.
